Lewis grew up in a musical house, learning piano and trombone while at school. His Dad was a percussionist in the Life Guards band so there were always various instruments around.
He got his first guitar for his 14th birthday and played his first gig three weeks later, which consisted of two Oasis songs played with his brother’s band ‘Wilderness’. While at school, Lewis’s musical highlights were supporting the current band of the bassist from Mungo Jerry and playing at The Alleycat in Reading.
The band split when everyone went off to University, but Lewis kept on writing and recording music during his three year Music Technology degree.
On leaving Uni, Lewis started working at South Hill Park Arts Centre as a theatre technician and sound engineer, where he got to work with music and comedy artists such as Jack Dee, Jamie Cullum and Chas & Dave. This was where he met his future wife Cat, who managed to get him to get off his arse and find a new band after his moaning about always being behind the scenes and never on stage.
In 2007 he joined Grey Sky where he wrote, sang and played guitar eventually getting his brother in on drums. When Grey Sky fell apart Lewis stopped playing for a bit and then found himself perpetually rehearsing and never gigging in a number bands that never even got named, finally finding Heathrow Jets.
